Getting started
What is Capzax?
Capzax is a mobile app that writes captions for your videos. You pick a video, choose how the captions are written, style them and export a finished video with the captions on it.
Which devices does it run on?
Android first. An iPhone version is planned after that. Early access will open on Android.
How long can my video be?
Right now videos can be up to 3 minutes long. This limit may change as the app grows.
Do I need an account?
No. Capzax creates an anonymous account on your phone automatically, so you can start straight away. You can add a recovery email so your plan and credits follow you to a new phone.
Writing captions
What is the difference between “On this phone” and “Cloud AI”?
On this phone works offline and is private: nothing leaves your device and no credits are used, but accuracy depends on the language, and popular languages like English work very well. Cloud AI is more accurate for many other languages, such as Persian, but needs internet and sends the audio of your video to a speech provider to be transcribed.
Which languages are supported?
Capzax supports many languages and we keep adding more. Popular languages such as English work very well on your phone, offline. Other languages, such as Persian, work best with Cloud AI. In the language list we mark each on-phone language as Good, Fair or Limited so you know what to expect. We are continually improving language support and caption quality.
The captions for my language are not accurate. What can I do?
Try Cloud AI, which is more accurate. You can also fix any word by tapping it on the timeline, or type the captions yourself with the manual option.
Can I edit the captions?
Yes. Tap any word to correct it, hide captions, regenerate them with a different method, or add lines by hand.
Does Capzax work with right-to-left languages?
Yes. Captions are laid out right to left and fonts for Persian and Arabic are included. For the best accuracy in these languages, use Cloud AI.
Styling & export
How do I change the look of my captions?
Open Style in the editor and choose a ready-made look. Then change anything you like: font, colours, frame, how the spoken word is highlighted and where the captions sit.
Can I add my own text to the video?
Yes. Use Text to add titles or notes, drag them anywhere on the video, choose when they appear and add a simple fade or slide animation.
Can I change the video format?
Yes. Canvas lets you pick Original, 1:1, 4:5, 9:16 or 16:9 and choose between Fit and Fill.
What is the “Made with Capzax” mark?
Videos exported on the Free plan carry a small Capzax mark. Paid plans export without it.
Privacy & account
Is my video uploaded to your servers?
Never. Videos, captions and projects stay on your phone. In Cloud AI mode only the audio track is sent, directly from your phone to the speech provider.
How do I keep my plan if I change phones?
Add a recovery email in the app and confirm it with the 6-digit code we send. On the new phone choose “I already have an account” and enter the same email. Videos and projects stay on the old phone.
How do I delete my account?
Email us from the address linked to your account and we will delete it. See the Privacy Policy for details.
